ABOUT
Eric Giles founded Giles Dairy Service in 1982. He started off on his own then later hired Malcolm Weight, who is still with GDS today. Giles had many successful years with GDS and built most of the barns in Utah. He was a pioneer of industry-leading technology in Utah. With the help of Bruce Weight and Robert Christensen, Giles introduced technologies such as the first detachers, ID feed systems, rotary parlors, and automation. Giles' success in the industry was due in large part to the help of his wife Cynthia, his kids, his brother Dave, and his loyal customers.
In December 2016 Eric Giles passed away. A few months after Giles passed, five of his employees purchased GDS with a determination to carry on his legacy. James, Chad, Andrew, Zac, and David are committed to incorporating the exciting technologies in the dairy industry into GDS to better serve the the dairy farmers in Utah, Southeastern Idaho, Southern Nevada, and the western slope of Colorado.
